The aim of the master’s thesis is analysis of practical application limits of waste-gate TwinScroll turbocharger located in BMW X6 M vehicle by using DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) tools. The goal is to create a special measurement device for a measurement of waste gate leakage with chance of testing all sorts of characteristics having impact on key parameters of turbocharger.
Evaluation of risk management and financial performance of BMW Group

Effective risk and financial management possess a great challenge for the multinational companies operating globally. Despite the increasing development of diverse hedging strategies against foreign exchange risk, global firms cannot fully foresee and measure the degree of the impact of foreign currency fluctuations. This paper aims to evaluate the exchange risk management and financial performance of the BMW Group from the year 2005 to 2016. Moreover, this paper is devoted to provide explanatory information on the impact of foreign exchange exposure on the financial performance of the company by the usage of information provided by the annual reports. The first section of the paper establishes the theoretical concepts of risk management with emphasis on exchange rate risk and financial performance analysis, which support the following study. The analysis of the industry and BMW Group business operations worldwide, currency movement, detailed accounting examination, financial ratio, peer group, exchange rate exposure and hedging strategies are performed to examine the relation between the financial performance and foreign exchange risk management. The analysis reveals that the effective hedging strategies against the foreign exchange risk may substantially impact the financial performance and overall positioning of the company in the competitive environment.
Statistical analysis of sales of the BMW Group company

This bachelor thesis, titled Statisctical analysis of sales the company BMW Group is divided into two parts, theoretical part and practical part. In the theoretical part are described the terms such as general function of the market, general characteristics of the automotive industry, significant moments in automotive history, main factors affecting sales of cars, or selected competitive concerns. Furthermore, there are also described parts of the company BMW Group. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first part deals with analyzing of the particular development of model series BMW and recording new technologies. The second part is focused on the analysis and comparison of the main models of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, that is a major competitior for BMW. The main objectives will be to assess their trends, finding parallels of the development of the sales trend and prediction for the years 2015 and 2016. The result of the analysis will determine the leaders of the particular vehicle segments and the previous development and also to determine which of the two automakers is the largest manufacturer of luxury cars in the world.
